The Snow QueenIn the center of this painting sits a woman with hair so light it can scarcely be called blonde.
No, her hair comes close to the bright shine of silver or platinum, and the heavy mass of it is pulled
back from her face into a single long braid.
Her clothes consist of a floor-length, ice-blue silk dress trimmed in lush white fur, a pair of
white leather boots also trimmed in fur of white, but this time with little black marks that signify
the fur as ermine, and a heavy armlet of silver that encircles her right arm, the broad band engraved
with a stylized winter scene.
Her skin is exceedingly pale, her lashes nearly the same color as her hair, and her eyes are the
pale blue of a winter morning, tinged with the pale gray of approaching stormclouds. She sits on a
throne carved entirely from ice, and her cushions are the finest of animal pelts, in every color
imaginable. To one side of her throne sits an artic wolf, his ice-blue eyes staring straight ahead at the
viewer. His body is rangy a

She is only seven years old.
He takes the flower from her and keeps it, even though he knows he shouldn't. He puts it a vase, or, rather, his servant does that for him. The flower doesn't ever die, even years later.
It's dawn of a December morning, and he's cold. But still, he stands next to his father dutifully and looks at the little girl with blue eyes that are now black from seven nights sleeping on a cold, dungeon floor behind bars. They cut off her dark brown hair during that time. She's tied to the pyre, and there are seven guards around her, holding sharper swords than normal, not that she could get away. There's one man dressed in black holding an unlit torch, with a mask over his face to prevent his death. His father raises his arm, and the torch is lit.
